Medical School Interview courses

We hold interview courses between September and December in London. The courses are led by Dr Jiva, author of the MSAG books, and other doctors who have experience in interviewing applicants. These courses are ran in a small group (9 students max) and are very interactive. They are very popular and always fully booked. We thus recommend that interested students reserve a place early. We do not extend the class size as we want to ensure a personalized course with plenty of time for practice. Unfortunately, we have no more courses scheduled for this year. Courses will re-starts in September 2013. Price is 150 pounds for the full day.

One to one Interview practice

Dr Dibah Jiva offers one to one interview practice. These can be in person in Wimbledon, London or via Skype for applicants who cannot reach this location conveniently. The sessions are personalized to each applicant and the medical schools they are preparing for. The content will depend on the need of the applicant. We can focus either on areas of difficulty (such as ethical questions, global health perspectives) or it can be run as a full mock interview for a particular medical school. Questions that have previously come up in that medical school's admissions interview will be used for the mock interview. Every session includes detailed feedback. Prices are 50 pounds/hour or 80 dollars/hour.

One to one Personal statement/Essay writing session

These sessions are ran by Dr Dibah Jiva and are personalized to each applicant and content varies depending on the need. Usually, the applicant sends a draft version of the personal statement/essay he or she is working on. Dr Jiva will read and prepare some feedback before the session. During the session the applicant works with Dr Jiva through the piece of work to improve different aspects of it that are required. One of the main focus is generally adapting the piece to the medical school the applicant is applying to or to the question that was asked. Students often ask for help finding the right examples and presenting them strongly in their piece of work. We also review gramatical errors and vocabulary. These can be in person in Wimbledon, London or via Skype for applicants who cannot reach this location conveniently. Prices are 50 pounds/hour or 80 dollars/hour.

Medical School Admissions Consultancy

These sessions are run by Dr Dibah Jiva. They are designed to help applicants choose where they can apply based on their profile. Typically, Dr Jiva reviews the full application, grades, personal statement, exams results (MCAT, GAMSAT, UKCAT and others), healthcare experience, other experience, strength and weaknesses. We include a 10 minutes mock interview by skype to rate interview skills. Dr Jiva goes through the whole application and rates it according to criteria used by medical schools and then helps the applicant choose where they have the greatest chances of getting in. This can be about choosing where to apply in your country but also about your chances abroad. Prices are 50 pounds/hour or 80 dollars/hour and generally it takes about 1 hour but this can vary depending on the complexity of the case and the questions asked.

Personal statement/essay reviews

You can submit you personal statement or essay for review. Depending on the quality of your work, the review will include comments, editing and track changes to help you improve your personal statement or essay. We do not write it for you but we highlight good aspects and less good aspects with it and make suggestions for changes. We charge 20 pounds per review and each personal statement and essay are reviewed by Dr Jiva.
