Our Commitment

theMSAG is committed to safeguarding the welfare of all young people who use our services. Many of our students are under 18, and we take our responsibility to protect them seriously.

Dr. Dibah Jiva, as the sole provider of all theMSAG services, holds an enhanced DBS check and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding practice.

Scope

This policy applies to all interactions between theMSAG and young people under the age of 18, including:

  • One-to-one consulting sessions (online and in person)
  • Group courses (UCAT preparation, interview preparation)
  • Personal statement review communications
  • Any other contact through our services

Key Principles

  • The welfare of the child is paramount.
  • All young people have a right to protection from abuse and harm.
  • All concerns and allegations of abuse will be taken seriously and responded to appropriately.
  • We work in partnership with parents and guardians to safeguard young people.

Safe Working Practices

To ensure the safety of young people, we:

  • Conduct all online sessions via reputable, secure video platforms.
  • Ensure parents/guardians are aware of session timings and format.
  • Maintain professional boundaries at all times.
  • Do not communicate with students under 18 via personal social media accounts.
  • Keep records of sessions and communications where appropriate.
  • Encourage parents/guardians to be present or nearby during online sessions with younger students.

Data Protection for Minors

We handle the personal data of young people with extra care in accordance with UK GDPR requirements. Where a student is under 13, we require parental consent for data processing. For students aged 13-17, we ensure they understand how their data is used and seek parental involvement where appropriate.

Review

This policy is reviewed annually and updated as necessary to reflect changes in legislation or best practice. Dr. Dibah Jiva is responsible for the implementation and review of this policy.
